Thermoxylanolytic and Thermosaccharolytic Potential of a Heat Adapted Bacterial Consortium Developed From Goat Rumen Contents

Thermoactive xylanases have important applications in the industrial deconstruction of lignocellulosic plant biomass, due to their sustained activity even at high temperature conditions bioreactors. We herein report development a thermoactive xylanolytic microbial consortium from semi-digested contents goat rumen and characterization enzyme cocktail produced by it. The exhibited maximum endoxylanase pH6 60°C. Zymogram analysis revealed production multiple xylanases. xylanase was stable over pH range 5–9 after pre-incubation for 3 h. It retained 74% (60°C) 50 min. It’s enhanced presence β-mercaptoethanol, NH 4 + , Mg 2 ⁺ Ca ⁺, whereas Hg had an inhibitory effect. further utilized saccharification alkali pre-treated rice straw mushroom spent straw. Saccharification studied quantitatively using dinitrosalicylic acid method qualitatively scanning electron microscopy. Results indicated potential highlighted significance chemical and/or biological pre-treatment improving accessibility substrate towards cocktail.
